Tweetsheep is a very nicely designed theme that is neat and pleasant. Both the top and the bottom of the page will show your website title,which is good for branding. The  “featured post” widget  is great for atttracting attention, and the rest of the theme is orderly and user-friendly. Its looks so pleasant that I’m considering to use this for a client’s website, as a sort of website that is in between casual and professioanal.

Special feature 1: It has a [read the full post] button at the end of every post. I personally find this very attractive.Not only is it convenient, it looks nice.

Special feature 2: The number of comments you have shows itself in a little white box to the right of your post. Nice, isn’t it?

Special feature 3: It is Twitter-compatitble. And the mascot of the theme holds a sign that reads “Follow Me”. And yes, you can click on it.

Just 3 special features, and it is a cut above some of the boring themes that Wordpress has a plenty. Remember, though, somebody took the trouble to create these themes.

A green, pleasingly plain theme. It works for blog shops because of that pleasantness and its SEO-friendly attributes built in.It is a good theme for words because the full width is optimised, and the widgets are neatly stacked to the right side. The black colour bottom you see on this screenshot holds the “Blogroll”, “Archives” and “featured sites” .

Yup, this theme is nothing special. Like most things on Earth, the important thing is what’s inside: the substance. The thing that sets a blog apart from another are: 1) theme 2) user-friendly interface 3) content.

The 1st 2 criteria are somewhat linked together, unless you like to customise your themes, and make them suit your liking. The content of the blog, is the soul of it. A weak soul does not attract traffic; a weak person does not attract followers. I have seen websites with simple themes such as The Enhancing Spring having a lot of traffic. Sometimes, the comments add up to be longer than the admin’s posts itself!

a tip: one of the most hated thing amongst readers is that the writer says a lot of stuff, but mean nothing at all. Thats right, meaning nothing at all. Saying things such as “The weather is fine, and the sun is rising up like a spectacular phoenix”　 is perfect as introduction to a post.But if the rest of the post is all something similiar to the line written, it serves no purposes to the website and to the reader. If you want to share something, share it in a way everyone will understand, by removing your personal context of the matter, if necessary. If you feel like you don’t want to share a feeling, do not type up tons of junk for people to guess how you are feeling. Save yourself, and others the time, and be considerate, by not sharing at all, at least online.

Like someone said: Don’t just show the U part of the W. If that is the case, don’t even show the U.

A common misconcept is that websites that look cooler, and more “hi-tech” tends to get more people to view. That is very wrong, for the people you attract will be in some factor due to the design of your website. There are TONS  of peole who like to read a lot at a website they find pleasant to the eyes. So, before you decide on your design, decide on the purpose of your website, and your target audience too.
